Loops for the lot you have.
Every project is a loop in the ground, a heat pump in the house and the controls between them. The loop type is what changes.
Vertical loops
Bores drilled straight down beside the house. The usual choice on a lake lot with little open ground.
See vertical loopsLake and pond loops
Coils on the bottom of water that is deep and large enough, with the permits it needs.
See lake loopsHorizontal fields
Trenches across open ground, for a big lot or a new build before landscaping.

Loop, heat pump and controls on a builder's schedule, with the inspection dates agreed up front.

Every project
What each one includes.
Heat loss and load
A room-by-room calculation of how much heat the house loses, which sizes the heat pump and the loop.
The loop
Design, drilling or trenching through our partner, fusing, pressure testing, grouting and flushing.
The heat pump
Installed in your mechanical room with the pump, tank and controls.
Ducts or floor tubing
New, reused or repaired, as the house allows. The quote lists each choice.
Start-up and a year-one visit
We read the loop temperatures and flows at start-up and again after the first season.
Before you choose a loop.
How much yard does a loop need?
It depends on the loop. A vertical loop goes down, so a few bores can fit beside a house. A horizontal field needs open ground, often a good part of an acre. A lake loop needs no yard at all, only the right water. We size the field from your house's heat loss and say what it needs before you decide.
Will it tear up my lawn?
Some. A drill rig and trucks leave ruts, and trenches leave a scar until the ground settles. Your quote says where the equipment goes, what we restore and what we leave to you, such as seed and watering.
What is in the loop?
Water mixed with an antifreeze, usually propylene glycol or an alcohol. Your quote names which one and the mix.
Does a loop need permits?
Often. Drilling, buried pipe, electrical and mechanical work can each need one, depending on the township and county. We file them and list them on your quote.
